Debunking Brysons "diet"

As seen from PGAs broadcast this weekend, this is the latest supposed diet that Bryson DeChambeau is on, and they said several times that this is "only to maintain his current bodyweight".

Now, i'm a big fan of bodybuilding and weightlifting and seeing these numbers seemed way of in my head. A standard whey-based protein shake of two scoops (pretty normal serving size) contains roughly 55g of protein and is a total of 300 calories. A rule of thumb for muscle gain is that you need around 1g protein for each pound of mucle mass you hold, so if i give a very generous estimate that he holds around 200lbs of muscle, 4 shakes would be enough, without any other source of protein required.

But they insist of 6-7 shakes, plus normal food.

The shakes alone would add up to 2100 calories and by the looks of the other food, there is no way in hell that ends up under 4000 calories for a day.

So either he is outright making stuff up for attention, or he crams way too much protein and food in himself for what he needs, and most of it will go straight through to the toilet without any benefits.

But nevermind the facts behind it all, cause the TV people will never care for plausability and will keep spamming us with the cool new facts of Bryson DeChambeau no matter how ridiculous they may be.

He is a great golfer though, i just had to get this of my chest.
