AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am - how does it work?

Been watching Pebble Beach Pro-Am and still trying to work out how the scoring goes ifor the Pro-An pairings? I understand that the Pro’s are playing their own stroke game, but how do they score the teams for the Amateur/“Celebrities” - does the pro play a second ball? Can someone explain
