PXG's 0811XF Driver has been deemed conforming by the USGA.
Versions of the next PXG driver have been in circulation on the PGA and LPGA Tours for the better part of a year, but it appears that PXG is finally close to officially bringing its second driver to the masses...or at least to its customer base.
The 0811XF name is telling for two reasons:
- The disappearance of Darkness from the product name on the USGA list suggests PXG has exited the prototyping phase. If you weren't aware, PXG routinely uses Darkness to designate prototypes, but to date, not a final product.
- Assuming the XF name means what it means in the iron line, we can expect XF to be more forgiving than the 0811, and hopefully insanely long like the XF irons. The placement of PXG's signature weights certainly suggests back CG/high MOI, and a draw bias option.
No word yet on release date or retail cost, but given PXG's pricing consistency, it's reasonable to expect that 0811XF will be at least $750.
More details as we get them.
