Let's talk about Tiger's WD from Safeway

Many of us were floored to hear Tiger was going to play Safeway and then in Turkey. Then he pulls the chute citing "vulnerability". That being said what do you think is going on? The course is not all that tight, leaving ample opportunities to miss fairways and still put it on the putting surface. Reachable par 5's. Several short par 4's. I don't know what to make of this. Is it what some are calling "fear to fail", or is he having short game yips? It could be a combination of both but I personally think this course would have been exactly what he needed to get the feel and his head back into tour golf. I understand that there is more then just that when he tees it up, but I can't stop thinking while watching this fairly thin field tear it up that this should have been right in his "wheelhouse". What are your thoughts? When do you think we see him next? I know these are a lot of speaking points but I just can't help but ask these questions while guys are going stupid low scoring well on the opening day.

edit: as I was writing this bogeys were found and now only Piercy is "stupid low". Either way the same questions exist.
