Last year, the first round of the FedEx Cup was in NJ. Both Jordan Spieth and Rickie Fowler missed the cut, so they played Baltusrol that weekend. I'm sure if you're a big name, if you want to play golf at a private country club, you're not going to get turned down very often. But how far down the money list do you have to be before they'd tell you "sorry, members only?" And how many courses would say "sorry, members only" to even the bigger names on the PGA Tour? If Jordan and Rickie tried to head further south in NJ and showed up at Pine Valley, would they have been as welcoming as Baltusrol?
